THE ARTIST'S WORLD WITH MICHAEL RINGER |
||
| My PBS 13 week series "THE ARTIST'S WORLD" aired to a potential audience of
about 45 million in NY, VT, PA, and Canada in 1996. In 1997 the show went national with an
audience of 175 million viewers. Because of the research with technical experts, and
contact with the industries and manufacturers of art supplies I meet while doing the show,
I am gathering a wealth of information that I want to pass on to viewers.The series is
exciting to create on both personal and educational levels, however teaching on camera and
condensing work taking hours or weeks into a few minutes can be challenging. The program
deals with many facets of being an artist on both a professional and amateur level. Backing the show are several companies I am proud to be associated with including; Golden Artist Colors, Chavant Clay, The American Artist Magazine, and the National Arts and Materials Trade Association (NAMTA). I hope you will look for the show on your Public Broadcasting Station.
Programs with a wide variety of subject matter including those such as; "choosing a brush"; "how paint is made"; "why artist should have contracts"; "how an etching is made"; "laying down a color wash"; "sketching on the spot"; "artists tools and their use"; "how a bronze is made"; "health and safety issues for the artist"; and "art appreciation", among others. The show is also for collectors and people that have a casual interest in art. I try to answer questions that are not readily available, and to encourage the viewer to think, rather than just copy what I do. |
