This blue guide boat seen in the painting above by Michael Ringer (2012) and the painting seen below by Winslow Homer (1892) are the same Adirondack Guide Boat. The Winslow Homer painting now hangs in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Michael’s painting, painted 120 years later is in a private corporate collection. The original blue boat has been in storage sometime since Homer’s death in 1910. Both paintings carry the same name, The Blue Boat.
